In November 2018, I decided to take the plunge on a pipe dream and started doing stand-up comedy.
I’ve always sought solace in comedy, from rushing home after school to catch re-runs of Who’s Line Is It Anyway? to watching repeats of my favourite Russell Howard and Simon Amstell clips when I was in the depths of my depression.
Stand-up comedy was something I was always curious about, but never thought I could do. Until, well, I did it. I figured, “I make myself laugh on a regular basis, surely I can make a couple of others chuckle, too?”
I started in the open mic circuit around London, and did some charity gigs here and there. In 2022, I started my own monthly open mic night with my friend Lucy Smith-Jones, with our first programed stand-up event coming up in August 2023.
Catch me co-hosting Quacks: Queer Comedy Open Mic in Sheffield and the occasional charity comedy night around the country.
You can watch some clips of my stand-up comedy here and here.
